POSITION: CHILD SUPPORT & YOUTH WORKER

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:

* Minimum 1 year experience of working with Children and or young
people in a Support & Advocacy Capacity.
* Knowledge of Domestic Violence Sector desirable.
* Level 6 in Social Care and or Youth Work
* BA Social Studies/ Social Care/ Youth Work/Social Work/
Counselling / Play Therapy or RELEVANT FIELD

LOCATION: On site Women?s Aid Dundalk, Co.Louth

THE ROLE:

Working directly with Children and Young People In a Support and
Advocacy Capacity. Your role will be to support Children/ Young People
referred to our service. This role will involve both working in a one
to one capacity with service users but also in group settings. You
will be part of a Child Support Team that strives to improve, support
and advocate for the needs of Children and Young People particularly
those living with or affected by Domestic Violence. This Role includes
Life Story Work, Direct Work and Facilitating Groups. Knowledge of and
experience of these methods are essential. You will be part of a team
that develops and facilitates Programmes for Children and young
people. Mentoring is a key part of this role.

KEY SKILLS:

* Excellent Communication Skills
* Knowledge of Domestic Violence & a willingness to learn about this
issue is essential to this post
* Excellent Report Writing
* Organisation
* Advocacy
* Facilitating Groups
* A passion for improving and advocating for the welfare of Children
and Young People
* Excellent Team Skills essential
* Flexibility in terms of hours
